I am a Consultant Gynecologist, Vaginal Surgeon, Endoscopist and Obstetrician with my own practice and hospital at Akola – a district in Vidharbha region in India. I have been in this profession for the last 12 years after I completed my Graduation and Post-Graduation from the well-renowned Seth G. S. Medical College and K. E. M. Hospital in Mumbai.
I started my career as any other Gynecologist. However, over the years, with an experience of more than 1200 cases and counting, I have honed the skills/art and specialized myself in a technique of what we medicos call it as Vaginal Hysterectomy. (You can find more about this in terms of what it means by googling around or by reading various posts on the blog – however if I were to mention it in layman terms – it is about incision-less removal of uterus.). This technique has evolved over the last few years. While I want to avoid sounding myself insensitive – I find performing this surgery technique fascinating. Removal of uterus is certainly not a happy thing in a life of any woman – however many of them will have to go through the challenges associated with it in their life-time. However, for those who suffer from Hysterectomy related issues, my personal opinion is that this technique is equivalent to the next best thing as proverbial sliced bread. Over the years, I have demonstrated its benefits in many different forums and conferences such as AICOG, AMOGS, YUVA FOGSI, NSU, MOGS and to various State Medical Associations.
Besides the above, I also have a keen interest in High Risk Pregnancies and Critical Care in Obstetrics.
On my blog, you will also find many posts about generic healthcare related issues in India – a topic which I am also very passionate about.
On the personal front – I am blessed to be supported by my lovely wife – Rekha, who is a medical professional herself and two wonderful kids – Meeti and Mohak.
